October 2011

In early October we spent an evening in Emmett, Id at different U-pick farms for a family home evening.  We got peaches, strawberries, apples and plums.  The girls loved picking the fruit and it was a really fun night.  It will definitely be a tradition.  This spring there is a cherry farm we want to go to also. We ate a lot of it, froze some, dried some and made some fruit leather.

The annual carving of the pumpkins.

Ayden and Alex each chose what they wanted to be this year.  Alex was determined to be a zombie.  She turned out to be a pretty good one too.  Ayden wanted to be Dorothy and my sister in law, Laura,  made a costume for her daughter years earlier so it was nice of her to loan it to us and my friend, Amy, had a cute monkey costume she loaned to us for Laela. I think they were great costumes and it was all free!

The Matthews came over and we enjoyed an evening of trick or treating.

We didn't have church until 1:00 so Brad would sometimes take the girls on little outings in the mornings.  He took them geocaching a few time and to the river to skip rocks a few times. This time he took the camera along.

Good job on your blogging catch-up efforts. Challenge will be to not be so sick of blogging that you don't wait 18 months.

I love the pics of fruit picking. It must have been so much fun. And Brad is such a great dad! He always does such fun things with the girls. It's hard to believe that that zombie is our beautiful Alex. Maybe another little actress in the family.
