4th of July in Burley then onto Park City

We were able to go to Burley for the 4th of July.  When we first arrived we headed out to Brad's Uncles house for a fishing derby and clay pigeon shooting.

 A fun time at the parade.  Laela was dancing the whole time cracking everyone up. 

 This was Brad's brothers "float" advertising for his insurance company.  Our Niece, her boyfriend, and our nephews peddling along.  

 We headed back to Brads uncles house for a BBQ of great food, boating and playing in the water and the blowup water slide.

 Brad and Jeremiah started tossing the kids on the tarp.  The kids thought it was great. 

Then we went on to Park City to spend time with Taylor and Kayce and my parents.  The kids played in the sandbox most of the time we were there.  We got so tired of doing baths every night so we came up with a different cleaning method one of the nights.  A cold kiddie pool full of bubbles.  Most of the pics were not blog appropriate but a little cropping and blurring helped with this one. 

The big reason we went to Park City was for Brad to go backpacking with my dad, my brother and my brothers brother-in-law.  They had a great time despite some rain.

We were going to meet up with them at the end of their trip in the Uintas with a picnic at Provo Falls but they called us on their way home and told us it was pouring rain and cold so we changed plans and met them at Jordanelle reservoir where we had lunch and the kids were able to play in the water for a little bit until the storm caught up. 

 I took these shots of the red sunset thanks to the many fires from the car on the way home. 

Alturas

The last weekend of June we decided to go camping at our favorite place.  Alturas lake which is by Stanley and Redfish lake.  We invited Brads sister, Emily, very last minute (morning of) and she was game enough to quickly pack up with her three kiddos and meet us there.  Her husband had to work and I was pretty impressed with her spontaneity.  The kids loved having their cousins there and we had a really great time.  We spent one day on the beach of Alturas and then we went to Redfish the next day.  The kids loved running around the camp site and the beach days.  We were so glad that we were able to go camping at least once this summer.  We always have plans for more but summer goes by so quickly!

 Laela ended up in Brad's sleeping bag.  We have a picture just like this with Alex and Brad from three years ago which ended with Alex peeing in the sleeping bag and brad waking up all wet.  Luckily that did not repeat itself this time!

 Trying to stay warm in the morning.  Stanley is amazing with its temperature changes.  Going from 38 degrees at night to 90 degrees during the day is pretty crazy.  

 Laela and Mia played so well together.  

 Some of the kiddos enjoyed a morning walk to the beach.  Just an hour later it was warm enough to head back in bathing suits. 

 Can't go camping without getting a dirty face picture. 

 Emily brought bandanas for the kids to puff paint and then they all wanted to wear them on their heads and be pirates before bedtime. 

 Brad took all the kiddos fishing the night before but wanted to go back with Alex in the morning because he could tell she really enjoyed it.  She really did love it and its nice because she isn't afraid of the worms unlike someone else I know.
