Alex @ 6 Months

Before we came to San Diego I had my good friend and photographer, Kim, take some pictures of Alex. It was so easy and fast having Kim do it. She is really talented but of course it is not too hard with such a great subject! :) I love the pictures. THANK YOU KIM!!!! (we miss you)

San Diego Here We Are!!

It is hard to believe but we are actually here in San Diego. Brad drove and arrived on Saturday night and the girls and I flew in on Sunday. The flight with both of the girls actually went very smoothly. We were very happy to be reunited as a family safe and sound. So far, we have really enjoyed California. Our apartment is really nice and we feel at home already. Ayden already calls it home and loves her queen sized bed. As Ayden moved up in the world by turning in her twin bed for a queen, Alex unfortunately had to down size from her nice crib and private room to a closet and a pack and play. Good thing she is too young to remember. Our apartment is right next to a an outdoor shopping center with more amenities in a half a mile block then in all of meridian combined. It has been fun checking out all of our shopping and eating options. Tonight we went to La Jolla Cove to show Ayden the sea lions. She thought they were pretty cool, yet lazy. She also got to play in the water a little bit with Brad. Alex was absolutely enthralled with the ocean. It mesmerized her. I think she loved watching the water and hearing the waves roll in. She was extremely happy all night long. We are really excited to have new adventures and see new things everyday. We have only just begun! Sun set at La Jolla Cove. Red Fish Lake

Brad and I decided to venture out a little bit and try camping with the girls. We did not know how it would go but thought we would give it a try and it turned out to be a blast. We went with our friends and their three kids.

They were a lot of fun. We had a great time just hanging around the campsite, swimming and rafting in the lake, hiking and eating. All of the kids did very well. We managed to wear them out enough during the day that they all slept very well. We had so much fun that we decided to make it a yearly tradition.( I know, I am making a really ugly face. I don't know why I put this picture on but I cannot take it off with out deleting all of the pictures and I don't want to download them all again. )

This picture was actually taken about five minutes after we arrived at the campsite. It just went down hill from there.

We hiked to the this meadow for the view of the beautiful mountains. After almost three miles of carrying Alex in the front pack the right way I decided to try it on my back on the way down to see if it would give me some relief. I liked it better and it seemed like Alex did too...

Alex fell asleep and slept the whole way down. The bouncy ride did not seem to bother her. Ayden slept a lot of the way too.
