December 2010

December 2010 started off with Laela going in for surgery to remove her adenoids, to add ear tubes and do a throat scope.  There was a chance the doctor was going to have to do some throat surgery also but she wouldn't know until she went in and did the scope.  Because the throat surgery would have required a stay in the hospital overnight we had to do to the hospital instead of her usual surgical center for the surgery. She didn't end up needing the throat surgery but we still had to spend all day (from 6:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.) in the hospital to wait for the doctor to come and discharge us.  It was a super long day because Laela felt pretty good after a couple of hours letting the anesthesia wear off and it is not an easy task keeping an 18month old from going crazy in a boring hospital room.  At one point she was so mad she ripped her iv out herself.

We got to go in and hold Laela as she woke up.
Starting to wake up a bit and not liking how she was feeling.

We spent Christmas in Park City but there big gift for Christmas was a new art/play room.  We turned the guest room into a room for them so we had a little mini Christmas before we left and revealed their big gift.

 Checking out the new room.

We had a blast in PC and one of the fun things was the snow cave Kyle (mostly) and Brad made.  The kids thought it was great.

found laela sneaking up on the table to steal some treats off the gingerbread houses.
waiting for santa to come down the ski slope on Christmas eve.
then santa paid a visit to Grandma's house.

  We acted out the nativity.

Christmas morning, the kiddos lining up waiting to go out and see their presents.

Christmas dinner was amazing this year.  I still think of it.

Brad's plate.  Veggies galore, prime rib and yorkshire pudding.

Kyle's mousse he made for dessert.
We had a fun day tubing at gorgoza.

Taylors family, our family spend an afternoon taking the bus to main street and riding the trolly.
