On April, 2 our little Laela turned 3! She certainly is full of character. This little one has quite the personality and the lovely behavior most 3 year olds have seems to be magnified with this one. Both the good and the bad. She is usually really fun but when she is in a mood she can sure be a handful. One of the things that cracked me up when I looked back through her birthday pictures was the faces she makes. She is super expressive.
Laela loved that it was her birthday. I think three is one of the most fun birthdays because they are old enough to understand it is their birthday and they are easily pleased. It is so fun to watch them be so happy about everything. Laela woke up from her nap to find the table decorated and thought it was the greatest thing ever. She sat at the table for a good two hours waiting for Brad to come home just looking at everything excitedly. We had just gotten back from Utah the night before and I had not done anything to prepare yet. We usually try to get gifts that are more then just toys and somewhat thoughtful because honestly I don't like toys and there are usually better things to give but in a time crunch I just bought toys from target that luckily happened to be on sale. She loved them and I spent less then I normally would have. It turned out to be a good thing.
My favorite thing about her birthday was watching her sing the happy birthday song to herself as we all sang. It was just adorable. On our way home from Utah we stopped by Grandma Marsha's who had made cupcakes for Laela so we sang to her there too and she sang along then also. She just did it with such a satisfied expression. Maybe I will post a video.
We sure love our Laela. She has always brought so much happiness to our family. She makes us all smile and laugh. She is really excited to have a new baby in the family. She is always concerned when she is sitting on my lap that she is not hurting the baby. She asked me the other day if the baby will come out my mouth. That is a terrible image and she has been educated. :)
I asked her what color of frosting she wanted on her cupcakes and she said "lots of colors"! I made a dang good cream cheese frosting and the "lots of colors" turned out nice.
