Laela- 1 week

My friend Kim took some photos of Laela on her one week mark. I can't believe she is almost three weeks now. She has been so wonderful. We love having her. Those of you who know me know that I have often said I could skip the newborn age and be fine with it. That was true until now. I have really been enjoying it. And Brad feels the same way. Not that we didn't have special moments and feelings with the other two but other things got in the way of us really enjoying it. Ayden was a hard baby. She was my first and I didn't really know what I was doing, plus I was severely sleep deprived because I never got more then a few hours of interrupted sleep every night. The rest of the time she was screaming at the top of her lungs. She kind of made me crazy and Brad was terrified of her (and me) because I couldn't let him hold her with out me saying "try this, try that or you are not holding her right, she likes this position". Eventually he just gave up. I don't blame him. When Alex was born, even though she was a very easy baby and slept 8 hours straight at night almost since the day she was born we were still on edge because we were scared it wasn't going to last. We never let ourselves relax and really enjoy her and by the time we did she wasn't a newborn anymore. With Laela, we know it can last and if it doesn't we know will handle it better this time so we have both been able to enjoy her. We have a better perspective of time and know how fast they grow up so it is easier to relish in this stage. She is so precious and we have been so blessed to have another angel join our family. We love you Laela.

Cute pictures! The time does fly by, it is amazing how fast they grow! I just want to stop the clock sometimes! Too bad you really can't do that.

Jenni...She is so beautiful! Love all the pictures. Kim did a great job...she is so talented. I know what you mean about the baby stage. I really had a hard time with Ruby and was not looking forward to it again. But it has been completely different with my second and I feel the same way I just can't get enough of her. I need to come over and meet her in person. By the way Great job with your Delivery. You truly are one tough cookie for going through all that pain. Congrats!!!!

Oh she is just angelic. There is something so delicate about little girls - maybe one day I will have one. Teagan's first few weeks weren't my favorite, but Easton's first year of life was difficult cause I had post-partum issues for a long time. So with Teagan the baby blues were gone within a month, and I get why people love newborns now. I'm glad that you are enjoying Laela. It feels good to really enjoy a newborn :). She is definitely beautiful! She has those plump lips just like your other girlies.

What an adorable little baby! Does she look like Alex to you? I'm glad you're enjoying the newborn stage this time around. It sure doesn't last long. I already hardly believe Quin was ever a newborn, 9 months later I have a wild man on my hands!
