32 Weeks

Nice picture, don't ya think? Just be happy I didn't post the one showing my lovely stretch marked, veiny belly.

I had another ultrasound at my 32 week appointment today to check up on a couple things from my first one. I had placenta previa at 20 weeks and the baby's kidneys had some fluid in them so we needed to do a follow up to see if the placenta previa corrected itself and to check the fluid levels. I am so happy to post the positive news that I no longer have placenta previa and the fluid levels are not at a level to worry about and they just need to be monitored when she is born. Hooray!! I would have had to have a c-section if the placenta had not moved. I was really worried about having one because first of all who wants a c-section and secondly it is much riskier for me to have one because of my blood disorder. I already have a high chance of hemorrhaging with a vaginal delivery and a c-section would have made it much harder to manage. Also, I would have had to be completely sedated during it because I am not allowed to have an epidural or spinal block and the thought of going to sleep and then waking up to a baby was not very attractive to me. I would rather go through 8-12 hours of hard pitocin induced labor med free and get to see my baby make her entrance.
It was fun getting to see her again in the ultrasound and watch her open and close her mouth and move around. The thought of having another baby just has not really hit me yet but watching her today made it hit me a little more. Wow, since I will be induced at 38 weeks that means there are only 6 weeks left. I am finally getting to the point where I am a little excited for the big day.

I love the belly shot. Pregnant bellies are so cute! I'm so glad that the ultrasound came back with good news. I'm excited for you to have your baby - you are amazing!

I think your pregnant belly is so cute. You're much smaller than I was. I hear you on the stretch marks. I didn't really get any on my belly too bad, but I got them on my legs this time, and that just sucks. All the way down to my knees! I'm so happy that you don't have to have a c-section. My sis had that placenta thing too but hers also went away. I'm cheering you on for your pitocin-induced non-epidural labor. I hope it goes fast and easy for you.

Jenni, I/m so with you on the newborns not being my favorite thing. I love my little guy, but with Easton I didn't really start enjoying him until he was bigger and letting me sleep. I feel crazy enough as it is after having a baby, so adding sleepless nights to the mix isn't a good combo. Glad someone else understands how I feel.

I don't think I am that tough! I think I would go for waking up not knowing anything happened, and then look over and say "wow is that my baby? I felt absolutely nothing!!" I am glad for you, though and I hope your labor and delivery is as pain free as possible..
