Ayden and her cousin Caleb "fishing." And making funny faces.

River enjoyed camping but was sad to be hooked to a rope the whole time. If he would just learn to not run away his life could be little more exciting. Apparently after we left a little bird hopped around the area where river slept and excitedly collected a bunch of hair for her nest. It is good to know they come to good use somewhere because they certainly don't in my carpet!

Me, Ayden, Alex, Emily and Caleb hanging out by the fire.

This is most of the group that was there minus some kiddos.

Alex and River

It was FREEZING at night and the only way to keep everyone warm was to cuddle in two sleeping bags zippered together. Between wiggly kids, being freezing and having to pee most of the night but too cold to get up I barely slept. It was also really hard to get the girls to fall asleep like this. I eventually had to put Alex in her porta-crib and tried to cover her up really well but about an hour later she woke up crying and when I went to get her she was curled up in a ball with no blankets and she felt like an icicle. I cuddled her and warmed her up and then she fell back asleep with me for the rest of the night. I think we were the last ones to fall asleep and the first ones awake. Needless to say it was kind of a rough night and we are going to have to come up with something else if I am going to do this again.
We woke up and had a great breakfast of breakfast burritos and then headed home for the last part of church. We were so glad we went up and it was a blast to hang out with the family. Thanks for planning it Marsha!

You are super mom. We haven't taken Aubrey camping since she was 6 months. We're hoping to go this year, but I'm not brave like you are. I'm not willing to not have a good night's sleep.
I can't wait to go camping this year. Loved all the pictures and I especially liked the one with all four of you sleeping in a tent. (so cute!) I think one of the best parts of camping is sleeping in a tent, snuggling tightly together just to keep warm!!! (but I know how rough it can be with a small one...trying to get them to sleep and getting some rest yourself)
Looks like a lot of fun!!! You didn't explain what you are doing in the picture of you reaching up in the heavens...in front of the camper...what are you doing???
Kim, I was catching a Frisbee (I will add that in the blog). I know kind of a stupid picture.
Looks like fun! (Except for the sleeping part.) I can't imagine it being cold...it's been SO hot here.
Fun pictures!! And way to be spontaneous, I think we could all use a little more of that. I've really been wanting to go camping lately! I know the sleeping will probably be miserable (especially with Easton), but I just love everything else about camping!
Jenni you should add that you were trying to catch a frisbee. To Jenni's credit, it was a high throw.
Nights are always the worst part about camping with kids. But it looks like you had a great time!
Dang it, I wish we could have gone.
Ooo I'm jealous. I've been having a camping itch. I'm glad you guys had such fun time. You are right about that picture with Brad and Alex. Very sweet. P.S. you look way good in all of the pics.
Oh, you just gave me the craving to go camping. I think we might have a spontaneous weekend coming up soon too!
