Sunday May 7, 2006 was Alex’s blessing day. It was a great day. Grandma and Grandpa Mammen and Aunt Hillary came to visit the Thursday before the blessing and Aunt Amanda and Uncle Jeff came the Friday before the blessing. It was a really fun weekend with a full house. Brad was really excited for Jeff and Amanda to come because he has been dieing to take them on some of his favorite mountain biking trails. So on Saturday while they were working their tails off biking we all exhausted ourselves having the girl’s pictures taken. I took advantage of having the help of my parents and sister and got it done. It is amazing that so many turned out between the crying and tantrum throwing. Ayden actually did better then I thought she would. Uncle Travis and Uncle Steve drove up from Burley Sunday morning for the blessing. Brad gave a very special and unique blessing to Alex that was very meaningful. After the blessing we had a great BBQ with the family. Overall it was a great weekend! Thanks to all the family that took the time to share the special day with us. It means a lot to us that we have family who care so much about us and our children. And thank you Grandma and Grandpa Mammen for Alex's blessing dress! It was so beautiful.
The morning after the blessing I flew out to Park City with my parents and the girls because Brad left on a business trip to Montana. I have been having a wonderful time in Park City. The first couple of days were also spent with my Granddad Gil who came to visit. He was a great sport and took us all out to a very nice dinner, the girls and all. Ayden actually behaved very well as long as she had plenty of parmesan cheese and chocolate chips in front of her. The rest of the week has been full of playing with the girls, going on walks, playing on playgrounds and visiting with old friends.
We are also looking forward to Aunt Laura, Cousin Janelle, Aunt Kayce and Cousin Axel’s visit to Park City. Mom and Dad will have all of their grandkids together for a couple of days (including the cousin on his way!). It is going to be crazy but also a lot of fun. I am sure we will get some fun pictures.
Love to everyone!!!
