Dad and Alex

We all had a wonderful weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Mammen. Grandpa Mammen was dying to see his new little granddaughter so they came up last Thursday for the weekend. Ayden was really excited to have them here. I think my mom and dad have the same energy level as Ayden because they all just love to go go go. Ayden was entertained 100% of the time this weekend with walks, playing outside, reading books, blowing bubbles, playing with toys, going to the park, going out to dinner, and shopping for new spring clothes. It was nice for us to have some fun after a week of everyone getting sick. The flu is going around here is Boise and we all got some form of it. Even little Alex. Who would of thought a two week old could get the stomach flu? It just brakes your heart. I sure hope we did not pass it on to the grandparents. Ayden was sad to see them go but she decided that if they had to leave then maybe they should take Alex with them so her life could get back to normal. While they were packing all of their things to leave Ayden got a grocery bag and filled it with a bunch of Alex’s clothes. Sorry Ayden, Alex is sticking around for good!
Alex is growing healthy and strong. She had a doctors appointment last Friday and she is already 8 lbs. 8oz. and 21 ¼ in. long. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height. It is funny how different your kids can be because Ayden was always in the 5th or 10th percentile. Alex just may pass Ayden up soon since Ayden has weighed the same since last October.
Life is good. Brad and I feel so blessed to have two beautiful daughters in our family. Oh yeah, and a dog, our first child, who seems to be getting bumped even farther down the line. Poor thing. We have loved having visits from some of our family. Thanks Mom, Dad, Hillary, Emily, Jeremiah and Caleb (Cabub) for coming to see our precious bundle of joy. Emily and Jeremiah, Congratulations on your new addition and we hope we can make it down soon to see Chase soon. Love to you all!

Jenni-Alex looks SO much like you! (With Brad's hair.) She's beautiful! I am dying to get out there to see you all! We're still checking flights. Tell Ayden it'll always be rough having a little sister, but she'll always get to be the bossy oldest one. It's her birthright. We love and miss you all!
