Day 1

Today is Day 1 of a wellness challenge I am participating in. I am pretty exited about it. For 90 days I have to accomplish 10 goals a day and in the end I could win $500! Some of the challenges will be harder then others, for example I already gave myself points all week for "no soda or alcohol". I obviously don't drink alcohol and I have not had soda in probably two years except for the few sips of Brad's root beer floats at Christmas time. So that one won't be a problem. The no sweets, fast food, or unhealthy snacks will be a bit hard because I don't know if I can live with out chocolate or the occasional handful of wheat thins. Fast food, no problem. I will need to get back into exercising. Since Laela doesn't like the gym and the classes I like are right in the middle of her morning nap I have been seriously slacking in the exercising department. Anyway, I fully plan on doing this 100% so how could I not win. Right? Wish me luck.

In other news. Brad has a new office!!! Hooray! This is his old office...

And this is his new one...

He now has a window office! He also has some more space and storage space. The girls and I went with him to his office last night so we could help him transfer all of his stuff. It was fun to get him setup in a space that I know will make him so much happier. Anyone who knows Brad knows that the last place he wants to be is cooped up in an office. So having the window and sunlight should make that a bit more pleasant.

As a bonus it also comes with it's own window ledge child enclosure. Haha. Laela had fun sitting here looking out the window. Maybe I should send her to work with him.

Also, I am pretty excited about these valentines I got for the girls to pass out at school. I think valentines can be a pain sometimes because I do not like buying cheapo valentines only to contribute to the companies who practically invented Valentines day just to increase their sales. Usually I try to do something handmade but that can take time and this year I don't really feel the itch to do that. So when I saw Julianne Moore talking about these I thought it was a great idea. You buy them here from Savethechildren.org. As the site will tell you, for a donation of $20, you’ll receive one set of Valentine’s Day cards and at the same time you’ll be helping Save the Children provide programs focused on early childhood education, literacy, physical activity and nutrition in the US. I think it is a great way to do a little something good while you do something we all have to do. They are cute too and were all designed by children.

Good luck with the wellness challenge! Maybe I should make myself a chart with my own incentive at the end since I have a few things I need to work on.

Brad's new office looks nice. I'm know I'd be a lot happier with windows too.
